If you don't notice any symptoms, how can you know if
you're at risk for P.A.D.?
You have to know the risk factors. And most
people don't.

A 2007 survey of adults at least 50 years old, conducted by the P.A.D. Coalition,
showed that among people who were aware of P.A.D., half of them didn't know that
diabetes and smoking increase your risk for P.A.D. Half of them didn't know that
high cholesterol and high blood pressure are risk factors for P.A.D. And most
importantly, perhaps, most people didn't know that P.A.D. can lead to heart attack
and stroke.

So get to know the risk factors below, then read on to find out not only how to
reduce the risk of stroke, but also reduce heart attack risk.
