If you are at risk for P.A.D.—especially if you are over 50 and have
diabetes, smoke, or used to smoke—it's important to talk to your doctor about
getting tested. Because, if you have P.A.D., it puts you at more than double the
risk of heart attack or stroke. It also puts you at more than four times the risk of
dying from heart disease, including heart attack and stroke.

About 60% of P.A.D. patients have blockages in the arteries of the heart or brain,
as well as in their legs, so, even if you're already diagnosed, it's important to talk to
your doctor about a treatment to help reduce heart attack risk and the risk of
stroke.
